Tickets can be booked in person and over the phone from the box office during opening hours Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm and Saturday 9am – 1pm. You can also book right here using the website. So we don’t keep you waiting click here to immediately see what’s on.

Please note: Once purchased tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded unless the event is cancelled and we are unable to offer a substitute event.

Booking Fee

All online bookings are subject to a single transaction fee of £2.50 per booking regardless of the amount of tickets purchased.

Where we provide ticketing services for other event organisers their arrangements may differ. No fee should be charged to you without being clear at the time of purchase.

Postage

All tickets will be sent by second class post for a small charge of £1, except those booked seven days or fewer before the performance, which will be held for collection at our Box Office.

Disabled patrons

We welcome people with disabilities. Assistant Dogs are welcome and water can be provided. If you use a wheelchair it is vitally important that you inform the Box Office at time of booking as our licensing regulations only allow for a stated number of wheelchair users per event.

Babes in arms and young children

Certain theatre performances are not recommended for children under 2 years of age. Please give us a call if you are unsure before booking.

Toilets

A radar key operated toilet for customers with disabilities and baby-changing facilities are available in the café.

Hard of hearing

An induction loop system can be provided for certain events. Please inform the box office at time of booking to ensure that the service is available for you.

Seating at music events

At selected music events there may be restricted seating. If you would like a seat, please arrive early as seating will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Drinking will be allowed in the auditorium (plastic glasses only) during some performances.

Getting to us

By Car: Exit M6 Junction 40 (Penrith) and travel westbound on A66 for 40 miles straight into Workington. At the end of the A66, turn left at the traffic lights onto Washington Street. Turn right at the next set of lights (Washington Central Hotel), straight over a mini-roundabout and take the next sharp right onto Murray Road, one of the town’s main shopping streets. At the end of Murray Road turn left onto Finkle Street. The Carnegie is now 150 yards on your left hand side. For Sat Nav users please note that our postcode is CA14 2BD.

The Carnegie does not operate its own car park. On-street parking is free after 6.00pm. A pay and display car park is situated to the rear on Vulcans Lane (1 min). For more information about parking please click here.

By Train: Workington Railway Station is a short 8 minute walk from the Carnegie. The Cumbrian Coast railway provides a regular service and joins Workington to the National Rail Network at Carlisle (50 mins) and Barrow (100 mins).

By Bus: Workington Bus Station is a short 3 minute walk from the Carnegie. National Express Coaches provide a direct link to the National Coach Network, and a frequent service into Workington from Carlisle and Penrith (railway station) is available. Local bus services operate well into the evening.
