THE FELLS OF HOME

Story Writing Competition for Young Writers Aged 7-19.

17th July 2023 – 27th September 2023

Write a piece of community literature based on the area around us: the Cumbrian and Lake District landscape.

The aim is to build on existing interest or talents of our young writers to nurture their talents and engage their interest in the area within which they live, taking inspiration from the landscape and culture of the Lake District without them feeling coersed to conform to a specific national curriculum standard, therefore engaging creativity.

Your story should be between 100 and 1,500 words.

At the end of the summer we will be publishing the children’s stories in books and sharing copies with local schools. Those who have taken part will get a complimentary copy. Additional copies will be available for purchase.
