Our Music Centre is a lively, supportive and creative music hub in the heart of the local community and as we aspire to develop it with all music lovers in mind, we’re about to launch our Adult Music Centre.” Steve Hunter-Brown, one of our Music Centre Tutors explains more.

Our Music Centres develop talent that is celebrated through performance.

“Building on the success of the Carnegie Music Centre for 8-18’s we’ve decided to start an Adult Music Centre. A lot of adults from our community have approached us about this and we feel we are able to structure an evening of music making for complete beginners to more advanced players and give everybody who attends the opportunity to learn new skills and experience the enjoyment of making music with others.

Our three Tutors have skills that cover most musical instruments and a lot of experience in facilitating groups of all abilities. Our Adult Music Centre will give participants an opportunity to play Steel Drums, Samba, Guitar and Ukulele as well as play in various musical groups such as a wind ensemble, orchestra and hand chimes.

The musical groups will be based around the adults who attend and their own aspirations. We’ll also ring the changes, as we have done with the youngsters, and change activities every so often so that participants get a chance to try new experiences and work with different tutors.”

We will be introducing an Adult Music Centre that has developed as a concept from our highly successful Children’s Music Centre.
