I have worked for the NHS in Cumbria since 1974. Born in Workington but brought up in Lancashire I have been a local GP and a Medical Director in the local health authorities. I was heavily involved in medical training and was an examiner for GP exams in both theUK and Ireland. People still seem to recognise my voice from the 33 years I spent as BBC Cumbria’s Radio Doctor! I served as a Trustee for Hospice at Home West Cumbria for 9 years and am a member of Workington Derwent Rotary Club. I am married to Anne and we have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
I have always appreciated having the Carnegie Theatre in Workington and all my 3 children have performed there over the years either with local amateur groups or at Music Festivals.
I hope we can continue to having a thriving Arts Centre in Workington and look forward to helping as a Trustee.
